 Spencer's Automotive was founded by Art Spencer in 1962. His son Richard Spencer purchased the shop in 1989. As a child, Rich spent his days watching his father rebuild and repair cars. It was during this time that Rich learned the value of every automobile, and learned how the right care and knowledge could extend the life and performance of any car or truck. Before Rich graduated high school he was working at Spencer's, where he learned how to use computer based diagnostic tools to enhance his deep knowledge of automobile engines and performance. Although Rich was learning the most advanced techniques in auto repair, he never forgot the lessons he learned from his father all those years ago. His father used to repair and restore cars for the White Center area; asking for little compensation in return. Rich never forgot the gratitude of those his father helped. He never forgot the warm feeling he felt every time his father would deliver a repaired vehicle to someone who couldn't afford a new one. Rich was determined to honor his father by continuing a business that would truly offer value to the community. He promised himself to always provide value and outstanding service, regardless of how large his business grew.
